Welcome Back to the Dungeon Again
The sun is shining in the Abysmal Woods where you're strolling without a care in the world, your weapon at your belt, dreams of adventure in your head. On your path, you stop before a damaged dungeon door. It seems that great battles took place here, a sure sign of coveted treasure inside.
You recognize this dungeon from the ballads sung in your village! However, you're not the only one who wants to enter, despite the warnings left around the entrance by the previous adventurers. Will you muster your courage to break open the door or will you let your opponents brave the monsters found inside? Let the adventure begin!
Welcome Back to the Dungeon is a simple and subtle push-your-luck game in which you'll need to adopt a show of bravado or outwit your opponents!
You are already familiar with Welcome to the Dungeon? Piece of cake, then! It is the same Dungeon as you visited before, only this time, it is filled up with brand new monsters, some even coming with specific effects, ready to fight you, and send back from whence you came!
This standalone also comes with a health points board, to keep track of your health while facing the monsters!
About the Gameplay?
It is very easy, and it plays in two phases:
- The bidding phase, during which you either draw a card (add it to the dungeon monsters, or remove it by paying one of the hero's equipment!), or pass you turn. If you do so, you will not go into the dungeon, and will no longer participate in this round.
- The Dungeon phase that concerns the only player who did not pass. Ready or not, it doesn't matter much: count your health points, and start revealing monsters cards.
How will it end?
There are only two possible endings to this story: your equipment was good enough to help you get rid of them, you fought some of them bare hands, but you all defeated them. You are still alive. You win the round!
OR…you didn't have enough equipment, your health points were too low, you fought well, but it was not enough. You are defeated. You lose the round. You only have one chance, but be careful, because you can only die twice, in the dungeon, before being entirely eliminated from the game!
In the end, Welcome Back to the Dungeon, it is a brand new adventure, with new monsters and new equipment that can be combined with Welcome to the Dungeon's! You liked your first trip to the Dungeon, you'll like even more your second time.
Oh yeah, I've gone a long way since I started to re-discover our Mini Games line! It all started with Welcome to the Dungeon, and now it comes to an end with Welcome Back to the Dungeon…As if it was all planned since the beginning… What a weird feeling. I have never liked endings. Never handled them well. Oh but that's why our Mini Games line is still getting bigger, so in the end, it's never really over.
During these weeks (months?) of scavenging these games shelves, I've had my favourites, and oh, god, how long have I spent playing those ones!? And you, dear readers, who have been following my adventures since the beginning, you must have found a favourite too. One that really touched your player soul, and that you would play over and over again. Tell me what it was! No, I promise I won't tell, I'm just being curious is all…
